Swedish orchestral pop starlet Birgit Bidder recently convinced a relative to front the funds required for her to enter the recording studio (or, to more accurate, a "rebuilt barn") with her band and producer Jari Haapalainen (Camera Obscura, Ed Harcourt). The result? 'The Life Home'; her beautifully soulful, 11 track debut, an accomplished work that is sure to convince everybody else that she is worthy of investment...the investment of attention!

Lead single, the charmingly melodic, pop ditty 'Parking Lot Paradise' released earlier this year in Sweden (due for UK release August 9th) on Birgit's own label Kerstin Records, saw heavy rotation on Swedish radio, with popular radio stations P3 (who made Birgit Artist of the Month in August 2009) and P4 showcasing her music in the form of live radio sessions before any official release. In Sweden, Birgit has had supporting slots for respected artists Lonely Dear and P3 Gold winners Deportees and Joel Alme and has featured on notorious Swedish hip-hoppers Ison & Fille's popular single 'Ikväll är vi kungar'. Breaking into the UK music scene meanwhile, is an anticipated dream for the singer-songwriter who has already had a taste of the UK crowds as Erik Hassle's (who has opened for the likes of Ellie Goulding, MIKA and Little Boots and has appeared on Radio One's infamous 'Live Lounge') 2009 touring keyboardist.

With an impressively haunting vocal velocity and unrelentless personal drive to succeed, Brigit is set to become a recognised musical tirade to be reckoned with outside of her native Sweden.
