MIAMI, FL, April 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A special event to be held beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Red Bar Gallery is set to help sponsor a child with special needs and one parent from Miami, FL have a chance to participate in the Waikiki Beach AccesSurf event in Honolulu, HI on June 27, 2009. Enjoy two sets of live music by Electric Piquete @ 10 p.m. and raise monies for a great cause. Proceeds will go towards airfare, hotel, transportation, meals and special equipment needs.

AccessSurf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to share adaptive surfing and shoreline flotation / swimming for any person with a mental or physical challenge who has a desire to enter the water. It also intends to provide paths on Hawaiian beaches, making them more accessible for everyone to enter the ocean and serve as an advocate for the disabled in the pursuit of outdoor recreation and leisure opportunities in the beach environment. AccessSurf also strives to develop equipment and education for the advancement of adaptive surfing.

Electric Piquete is a Miami-based, all-instrumental Latin funk / fusion six-piece band. Founded in 2007 by drummer Ed Rosado and bassist Michael Mut, the group is in the process of completing their three-song demo and has recently played area venues such as Red Bar Gallery, Tobacco Road, Carnaval on the Mile, Lakes Cafe and a private party in Southwest Ranches. One of the recent Tobacco Road shows also served as a fundraiser for the Serrano family through CBS4 Neighbors4Neigbors.
